EastEnders spoilers – Phil Mitchell rocked to the core as he gets devastating news about Ben
Phil gets some bad news
Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) is set to be rocked to the core in upcoming EastEnders scenes when he receives devastating news about son Ben.
The Mitchells were recently left completely shocked when police officers arrived at Callum Highway’s (Tony Clay) birthday party and announced that there was an international warrant out for Ben’s arrest.
Though Ben protested his innocence, it later transpired that he had committed fraud in the US while trying to help Lola Pearce get access to new treatment for her brain tumour.
After finding that his own credit card had been blocked, he stole someone else’s and made a number of purchases.
Phil gets some bad news
Desperate to not be separated from daughter Lexi Pearce (Isabella Brown), Ben begged Phil to help him, and together they formed a plan to take Lexi out of the country after Ben was released on bail.
Unfortunately for Ben, mum Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) rumbled the plan and tried to persuade Phil not to go through with it.
To make matters worse, Ben was deemed a flight risk and denied bail, meaning that there was no way he would have been able to run away with Lexi.
During an emotional goodbye to Callum, Ben promised that he would plead guilty to the crime, and recent scenes saw Callum inform Kathy that he had kept to his word and was being flown out to America the following day.
In upcoming scenes, Phil interrupts George at the Boxing Den having received some bad news: Ben has been sentenced to six years in prison.
After seeing the emotional turmoil George is experiencing, he pushes his grief aside and offers some advice.
Will he be able to help?
