Aunt Jordan has ended the life of Nikki’s AA sponsor.

Brian Gaskill is saying goodbye to his role as Seth on The Young and the Restless. As viewers of today’s episode saw, the Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor met his maker after Jordan, played by Colleen Zenk, pushed him out into the street where he was fatally struck by a car.

Gaskill took to social media to put into words what his Y&R experience meant to him. “Between social media and the Internet in general, news travels ridiculously fast these days …so…” the actor began an Instagram post, “yeah, that happened…(and if you haven’t seen yet, please watch…I hear Los Angeles might be preempted…so check out Paramount+ or look for Times).

“I had a great time on Young and the Restless with the producers, directors, publicity department, and other actors,” the soap hopper added, “and it was incredible to see so much support from all of my friends on social media, who have been following along over the years… So grateful for all of you. Now let’s see what comes next…”

“I saw Y&R today and had tears in my eyes after your exit,” wrote Michelle Hollensteiner on Gaskill’s post. “You did a fantastic job and I was hoping you would be on there longer. I will miss seeing you on there.”

Gaskill sat down with Soap Hub in January to talk about his role as Seth. He was looking forward to digging into the character’s backstory. “When I did Port Charles [where I played Rafe], I didn’t know my character was dead and a guardian angel for the first four months I was there!” he said. “I can’t promise to say I know everything about this guy yet but I bring myself to him. He has a desire to be a good person.”

The actor has also appeared on Guiding Light as Dylan, The Bold and the Beautiful as Oscar, and his first daytime gig was playing Bobby Warner, son of Cliff and Nina, on All My Children. Bobby wasn’t seen with his on-screen pop but he made sure to reconnect with Peter Bergman (Jack; ex-Cliff, AMC) when he landed in Genoa City.

“First day,” Gaskill said about when he saw his former TV dad. “I took a risk and went over to the set he was working in to say hi. Even though we never worked together, he knew I’d played his son. I’d seen him at awards shows. He was always really, really nice. But I hadn’t seen him in years.”
