She commits a major betrayal against her brother next week, risking tearing the family apart for good. After learning some damaging information, she turns on her brother after a discovery about some money.
The Mitchells unite at a time of grief in upcoming scenes, following the news Aunt Sal has passed away. Phil Mitchell, his sister Sam and the others join together to say goodbye to the soap legend at her funeral in scenes next week.
They’re joined by two new arrivals, with Sal’s husband Harold joining the ceremony, while according to a press release Billy Mitchell’s dad Stevie will also debut at some point as part of the episodes. Sam makes a big discovery at the funeral as she finds out that Aunt Sal has left her, Phil and brother Grant Mitchell £100,000 in inheritance.
The news leaves Sam in shock, with her completely unaware she’d been left any money. She confronts Phil and demands her share of the money, but he refuses to hand it over.
Sam turns to dirty tactics to get what she wants, resorting to blackmail after finding out from Alfie Moon that Phil cheated on wife Kat. Viewers know that Phil slept with Emma Harding last year, and when Sam finds out she decides to blackmail Phil for the inheritance money.
As the week goes on she continues to pressure Phil for the money but he doesn’t give in. But it seems Phil finally decides to hand it over, only for Sam to betray him in front of the entire pub.
Phil and Kat’s joint birthday karaoke party is in full swing at The Queen Vic, and the couple have a heart-to-heart during the evening. But suddenly Sam takes to the mic and drops the devastating bombshell that Phil has cheated on Kat with Lola Pearce’s mother Emma.
The news leaves Kat shocked and heartbroken, and she flees their home while Sam is met with contempt for her actions by her family and Walford residents. She joins her son Ricky Mitchell, only for his dad Jack Branning to demand Sam leaves. Can she work things out with the Mitchells?
