Phil has a desperate plea for Sharon in EastEnders – but it’s a big ask
Phil’s a man on a mission
With Father’s Day fast approaching, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) has made a big request of ex-wife Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) concerning their son Albie.
Phil’s access to the youngster has firmly been at the back of Sharon’s mind ever since her involvement in the death of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) on Christmas Day.
Hours before Keanu’s death, Sharon was due to marry him but event quickly ended in disaster when he learnt that Albie wasn’t his son.
Viewers of the BBC One soap will remember that Keanu and his mum Karen (Lorraine Stanley) staged a fake kidnap plot so that they could take Albie out of the country – but it went disastrous wrong.
Phil’s a man on a mission
Sharon was beside herself with worry as she tried to gather up the £50,000 the supposed kidnapper had asked for in a ransom note posted through her door, and Phil coughed up the cash.
Karen eventually fled Albert Square in a bid not to pay him back, and when she returned to Walford earlier this year to investigate the circumstances surrounding Keanu’s ‘disappearance’, he made it certain to her that she still owed him.
Phil ended up getting his hands back on the garage instead – but the more pressing matter was whether he’d be able to see his son.
Sharon had fled to Australia, and upon her return, he charged over and demanded access. However, she had bigger fish to fry as the floor of the café, where Keanu’s body was concealed, had fallen through.
In tonight’s (10th June) episode, with Father’s Day the topic of conversation in the Queen Vic, Phil thought that it was high time Sharon told Albie that he was his father.
However, before she could even broach the subject, Johnny (Charlie Suff) heard an almighty crash in the barrel store, and they rushed in to find his mum Linda (Kellie Bright) collapsed on the floor, sobbing over her involvement in Keanu’s death.
Is everything about to unfold?
