Petrified EastEnders icon Yolande has horrible encounter with vile Clayton and his wife

Clayton is putting on a shockingly convincing act

He’s a constant nightmare looming in the community and, in upcoming EastEnders episodes, Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) is forced to face off with Pastor Clayton – the man who sexually assaulted her.

Clayton, played by Howard Saddler, took advantage of Yolande after befriending her, and attacked her.

She was left traumatised and initially kept her ordeal a secret, confiding only in neighbour Elaine (Harriet Thorpe).

Eventually, in a critically acclaimed two-hander episode, she confided in her husband Patrick (Rudolph Walker), who vowed to be by her side no matter what.

Yolande opted not to report Clayton to the police, but instead told church official Levi what she has been through.

What nobody knows is that Clayton has actually committed sexual assault against many other women, and continues to hide as a monster in plain sight.

As Levi conducted an investigation, Yolande and Patrick took themselves away from a break, but returned to the discovery that Levi had moved on.

Clayton remains a so-called pillar of the community which Yolande is now forced to continue sharing with him.

And soon, she will bump into him when he is out and about with his wife, an encounter that understandably leaves Yolande shaken.

The baptism of Jordan arrives and Patrick tries to convince Yolande to skip itbut she’s adamant she’s going.

Later, she is annoyed when she learns that Patrick tried to meddle with Chelsea’s plans and the pair share a heated exchange before she leaves.

Later, Elaine buoys Yolande with advice, but it’s short-lived after the tense encounter with Pastor Clayton and his wife outside the community centre.

As ever, he retains a sickly fake demeanour, outwardly gaslighting and intimidating Yolande with his caring façade.

At the baptism itself, she’s steadied by Patricks support. At the church, Denise senses something is up with Yolande and tries to speak to her seperately.

Later, Bernie arrives at the church and bumps into Yolande praying. After the pair share a heart-to-heart about bravery, Yolande decides to go ahead with the baptism as planned but it all gets too much and she shouts at Clayton before rushing out.

Will this showdown trigger suspicions against Clayton? And how much more can Yolande cope with him being in her life?
