Major EastEnders couple officially divorced – as 𝕕eath looms
Suki and Nish are finally divorced
This article contains spoilers for Monday’s (May 27) EastEnders, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) got quite the shock in recent EastEnders scenes when Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) turned up on the doorstep unannounced.
Suki and Nish are finally divorced
Nish was last seen several months ago being thrown out of the family home, after the family caught him attacking Suki.
As Suki reeled from the shock of his sudden arrival, Nish was quick to hand over an envelope, before revealing that there was something they needed to discuss.
Horrified, Suki insisted that he leave, making it clear that he wasn’t welcome, and she didn’t want to hear what he had to say.
After opening the envelope, Suki was surprised to find the completed divorce papers, and revealed to girlfriend Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) that her solicitor had confirmed that both copies had been sent to Nish by mistake.
Eve was quick to reassure Suki that their divorce meant that she was finally free of Nish, though Suki wasn’t so sure.
She pointed out that the only reason Nish would have come back would be because he wants something – and it later became clear exactly what that was.
Though Suki had had the locks changed, Nish remained determined to gain entry and have the conversation he was so desperate for.
After using granddaughter Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) to get in, Nish made it clear that he wasn’t going to leave until he had spoken to the family.
Once Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) and Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota) had arrived, they insisted that he wasn’t welcome, as Ravi attempted to wrestle Nish out of the door once more.
However, he was stopped in his tracks when Nish dropped the huge bombshell that he was dying.
The family looked on in shock as Nish broke the news – but will they believe him?
