Jay Brown on the brink as he risks losing his entire life in EastEnders drugs drama
Jay could have lost everything
Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) was left reeling in recent EastEnders scenes when Nadine Keller’s (Jazzy Phoenix) cruel baby lie was finally exposed.
Nadine had been faking a pregnancy in order to get money out of Jay, as she was being blackmailed by one of her classmates.
While trying to explain herself to Jay, Nadine revealed that she had secured a prestigious placement with a law firm that Olivia had also applied for, and when she didn’t get it she began threatening to expose Nadine’s drug and sex work history.
Though Nadine insisted she had always planned to pay Jay back, he demanded that she leave.
Jay could have lost everything
Hurt by the outcome of the situation, Jay headed to Peggy’s to drown his sorrows, and was soon joined by Stevie Mitchell (Alan Ford), who was keen to offer some advice.
However, Jay decided he would rather spend his time in female company, and soon ditched Stevie for a girl at the bar.
Later, Jay brought his date to the car lot, where it seemed she wanted to do more than just drink.
When she offered grieving Jay a line, he considered it for a moment before accepting.
Viewers will know that Jay got in a lot of trouble with drugs last year, and ended up in a near-fatal car accident after driving under the influence.
His decision almost lost him his entire family as well as his life, but it seemed he was fully prepared to make the same mistake again.
Fortunately, Stevie crashed the party just in the nick of time, and chased the woman off before Jay could take any illegal substances.
Though Jay had made it clear earlier that he didn’t want a pep talk, that was exactly what Stevie was going to give him.
As Jay snapped that he was too late to be playing the doting family man, Stevie retorted that while he may be, Jay wasn’t, but that if he continued to behave the way he had tonight then he would soon be in the same boat.
Stevie went on to open up about how no one had ever pointed him in the right direction when it came to parenting, before assuring Jay that he was good enough to be Lexi Pearce’s (Isabella Brown) dad.
With Stevie having seemingly got through to him, will Jay be able to avoid falling back into the clutches of drug addiction?
