Coming up, the Emmerdale lad played by Joe-Warren Plant makes a huge confession about his romantic life.
Jacob has been harbouring romantic feelings for Victoria Sugden (portrayed by Isabel Hodgins) for several months and the pair have even embarked on a secret relationship.
Although they tried to keep it all under wraps, the pair were caught canoodling by Jacob’s father David Metcalfe, which convinced the soap legend it was time for him to leave the ITV village.
And soon, more villagers become aware of their connection – but how will they all react?
Will they be accepting of Jacob and Victoria’s love story despite their nine-year age gap?
Coming up, a conversation between Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) and Jacob leaves her concerned to think his affections are directed towards her.
The next day, admiring Dawn and Billy Fletcher’s (respectively played by Olivia Bromley and Jay Kontzle) relationship, Gabby admits her worry that Jacob has developed feelings for her.
Gabby is determined to set him straight but when the penny drops that he wasn’t talking about her, she is astounded to realise the truth about Jacob and Victoria.
With the truth starting to come out, Jacob and Victoria are apprehensive to tell his mother Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) and grandfather Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) about their relationship.
Discussing how to break the news, they arrange a meeting with the both of them.
Awkwardly admitting to their relationship in the pub, eavesdropping Gail Loman is shocked.
They are awkward to reveal David knew and they were the cause of him departing the village, as mentioned above.
Indeed, at the time of his exit from the eponymous Dales, David was hopeful that he could rekindle his romance with Victoria.
These hopes were dashed once he saw Victoria and Jacob kissing one another and he was left heartbroken.
David told nothing about Victoria and Jacob’s relationship to anybody in the village.
