Emmerdale fans were left baffled on Wednesday’s episode over an update involving feisty newcomer Ella Forster.
During the episode, Mandy Dingle arrived at the vets social, dressed in an extravagant Elizabeth Hurley inspired outfit complete with safety pins. However, it wasn’t long until loud-mouthed managing director, Jules, rudely teased her about her black dress, leaving her blood boiling.
Things went from bad to worse when partner Paddy Kirk pandered to him and refused to introduce Mandy as his girlfriend. Later, Paddy opened up to Mandy about his insecurities around Jules, leaving his girlfriend hurt but she decided to support him at the event nevertheless.

But it wasn’t long until Mandy overheard Jules lambasting his PA, Ella, to which Mandy consoled her. Later, when Jules made some more rude comments about Mandy, a furious Ella poured a drink over him declaring she was quitting her job. Returning to the group, Paddy mistakenly blamed Mandy for the chaos, leaving his girlfriend both humiliated and devastated.
On Wednesday’s episode, Ella met up with Mandy after leaving her coat in the Hide, where she admitted she was worried about having no job and felt awful that Mandy was blamed over her own actions. Later, Ella left to go as she declared she was off to find a new job, which was overheard by Manpreet Sharma.
After Manpreet realised that Ella is a PA, she offered her a position as a receptionist at the doctor’s, insisting that the duo will have a chat about the potential position, leaving Ella delighted over the “fate” encounter.

However, viewers were left baffled over the speedy job turnaround. Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: “Job as a receptionist handed on a plate”, a different account put: “Amazing you can get a job interview so fast these days #Emmerdale”, another follower wrote: “That easy to get a job is it #Emmerdale” while another fan put: “As if u get a job like that #Emmerdale!”
