ITV Emmerdale announce new cast member that Coronation Street fans may recognise
Oliver Farnworth has joined the soap
Emmerdale has announced a new cast member that soap fans may recognise from another soap.
Oliver Farnworth has arrived in the fictional Yorkshire village as John Sugden and is set to cause havoc in the Dales. The character is set to cause drama for Victoria Sugden, who is the only remaining family member in the village.
Oliver will be known to soap fans for his role as Andy Carver in Coronation Street and Will Hackett in Hollyoaks. The actor can’t wait for fans to see what his character has been up to in Emmerdale as he said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining the cast of Emmerdale.
“The show has such a rich history, and the Sugden family is integral to that. I’m looking forward to bringing my character to life and working with such a talented and dedicated team.”
Show bosses are also thrilled with Oliver’s arrival as producer, Laura Shaw, said: “We are thrilled to have an actor with Oliver’s talent and presence join the Emmerdale family. The Sugden’s have always been central to Emmerdale, and introducing a new member opens up exciting possibilities for future storylines. Mysterious John’s arrival will no doubt create a stir in the village for Victoria and the wider community.”
John Sugden will officially debut on Emmerdale in episodes broadcast next month.
