Ian Beale staggered as he discovers Cindy’s cheating in EastEnders – and loses her for good?

Ian discovers the truth about Cindy and George’s kiss

Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) is left staggered in upcoming EastEnders scenes when he finds out the truth about Cindy Beale’s (Michelle Collins) cheating.

Cindy and ex-husband George Knight (Colin Salmon) shared a secret kiss several weeks ago, while George was in the depths of despair following the death of mum Gloria and imprisonment of dad Eddie.

Their betrayal has already seemingly torn apart George and Elaine Peacock’s (Harriet Thorpe) relationship, with Elaine having learnt about the kiss after overhearing a conversation between the former lovers.

In upcoming scenes, Gina and Anna Knight (Francesca Henry and Molly Rainford) are hopeful that they can convince Elaine to give George another chance, though the atmosphere on their girly night out soon turns sour when Cindy arrives.

Noting the tension, Cindy decides to head to the pub instead, where she finds George manning the bar alone and struggling with the crowds.

She soon offers a helping hand and it doesn’t take long for them to fall back into their old Marbella routine.

When Elaine arrives back, she is crushed by the sight of the two of them together, and comes up with a plan to get her own back.

The next day, she summons Ian to the Vic, where she reveals the gory details of George and Cindy’s cheating to the stunned chef.

This is not the first time Cindy has cheated on Ian, as long time EastEnders viewers will well know.

Cindy first betrayed Ian with Simon Wicks in 1989, falling pregnant with son Steven – who Ian believed was his for the first few months of his life.

Years later, Cindy cheated on Ian with a lifeguard called Matt, before moving onto Simon and Ian’s half-brother, David Wicks, which resulted in Cindy trying to have Ian assassinated so that she could be with him.

With Ian having been betrayed by Cindy yet again, how will he react? Is this the end for the classic couple?
