Home and Away’s Theo Poulos to consider quitting Lyrik

Theo is faced with a tough choice as he works to give up đť”»rugs.

Home and Away‘s Theo Poulos faces an impossible choice on Australian screens this week, as he considers quitting his beloved band Lyrik.

Theo’s recent romance with newcomer Valerie Beaumont took a dark turn when she introduced her boyfriend to drugs, leading Theo down a difficult path as he started to become reliant on the pills that Valerie was giving him.

Australian fans have now seen Theo start to take steps to get his life back on track following Valerie’s departure. But TV Week reports that scenes airing this week in Australia, and in early June in the UK, will see Theo hit a hurdle in his recovery.

After finding it difficult to give up drugs, Theo has sought professional help with his addiction.

When Theo’s psychologist suggests that his feelings of being overwhelmed may be eased by simplifying his life, Theo agrees that something may have to give. But he faces a major dilemma over what to give up – work, his studies or his position in Lyrik?

His aunt Leah Patterson and uncle Justin Morgan are stunned when Theo suggests that it may be the music that needs to go, but they understand that Theo can’t see another option right now.

Could this be the end of Lyrik, or will the band be able to find another musician to take Theo’s place? And will Theo really be able to resist staying away from the microphone?

Actor Matt Evans, who plays Theo, is also a musician, and he recently teased new music focusing on the difficulty that he has faced over the years with entering new relationships.

He has also taken to Instagram to ask his followers for romantic advice, recently admitting that he has “always struggled with commitment issues in relationships” and questioning whether a potential new partner may be a good match for him or not.

“If they take three to four business days to reply to you, what do you reckon? That’s like too long, right?” he said.

“Like you can take a few hours or something because you’ve been busy but like three to four business days, I don’t know about that.”
