Home and Away’s Mackenzie Booth to suffer a second major health scare
Her determination to leave hospital puts her in d𝕒nger.
Home and Away‘s Mackenzie Booth will be faced with another worrying health scare on UK screens next week, as she panics that she is having a second heart attack.
In scenes that will air on Channel 5 on February 21-23, Mac is still recovering in hospital following her heart attack and subsequent operation.
Mac admits to surgeon Levi Fowler that she still isn’t feeling like herself – but when she gets a moment alone with former paramedic Xander Delaney, she convinces Xander to sneak a peek at her chart.
Xander is encouraging and promises Mac that there’s nothing but good news in her chart. He then tries to comfort Mac by relating to his own experience in hospital last year.
The next morning, it seems that Mac has taken Xander’s encouragement to heart when she announces to Levi that she’s discharging herself from hospital.
When Xander returns to see Mac the next day, he doesn’t realise that he’s there to pick her up, and he’s horrified when she reveals that she’s discharging herself against her doctor’s orders.
Has Xander accidentally jeopardised Mackenzie’s recovery from her serious health setback?
Mac remains determined to head home from the hospital, a decision which has horrified Levi. He makes things very clear to his patient, telling her that it is unsafe for her to go home this early into her recovery.
Feeling protective of his patient, Levi confronts Xander for putting the idea of going home into Mac’s head in the first place.
However, Xander counters that he knows Mac, and if she is this determined to go home, then she will. He adds that this is her own decision and it’s not on him. But Levi retorts that Xander is to blame and that he should be prepared to own that fact.
Back at home, Mac isn’t feeling as relaxed as she had hoped she would be. She admits to Tane Parata that, if anything, she feels more anxious now, knowing that if something else happens to her, she’s so far away from medical help.
Later in the week, Mackenzie stays up late doomscrolling as she worries about the chances of suffering another SCAD episode. It soon seems that she may be right to be worried, when she wakes the next morning suffering with chest pain.
Panicked, Mac knocks on Tane’s door and orders him to call an ambulance – she thinks that she’s having another heart attack.
Is Mac’s life about to be put in danger once again?
