Home and Away’s Felicity Newman to suffer a panic attack in dating storyline
Felicity finds it difficult to move on from Tane.
Home and Away’s Felicity Newman will suffer a panic attack as she attempts to move on from ex-husband Tane Parata in a new storyline.
In scenes set to air next week in Australia and March for UK viewers, Felicity is convinced by her friends to try dating again. However, an encounter with a stranger leaves the business owner panicked over moving on from Tane.
Encouraged by Eden Fowler, Felicity decides to put herself out there and is soon presented with the perfect opportunity a day later when a handsome stranger comes into Salt.
The pair hit it off immediately and, after some innocent flirting, the man leaves his number on a napkin for Felicity.
Overseeing their interaction, Xander Delaney encourages her to take a chance with the stranger and give him a call.
However, the prospect of pursuing the stranger romantically soon becomes too much for Felicity as she swiftly hangs up moments after dialling the number before keeling over in the grip of a panic attack.
Thankfully for Felicity, paramedic Xander is there to help her through the episode, but will the restaurant owner be able to move on romantically?
Speaking about the storyline, actor Jacqui Purvis said it will be a “learning curve” for Felicity.
“It’s been a massive learning curve,” she told TV Week, adding: “It’s now time for Flick to step back and work out what she really wants.”
Felicity had previously been married to Tane, with their relationship breaking down after he discovered the Salt co-owner had been lying about wanting to try for a baby with him and secretly taking contraceptive pills without his knowledge.
Despite hoping for a reconciliation, Tane made it clear that he couldn’t forgive her for lying — with Felicity now forced to accept that her marriage was over.
