Home And Away star Georgie Parker has revealed she is taking a break from work while she recovers from a major medical procedure.
The soap star, 59, underwent another hip replacement – her second in six years.
She shared photographs of herself recovering from the procedure in hospital and another posing with crutches as she documented her post-operation recovery process.
In a caption, she explained she was currently three weeks into her rehabilitation.
Georgie, who has portrayed Roo Stewart on the Aussie soap opera since 2010, said she hopes to soon return to work as she praised her family for their support.

‘I’ve been busy. Finishing a play and then straight into another theatre (get it) for a new hip. My second in 6 years, and thank god I had the same brilliant surgeon and his team,’ she said.
‘I hate the drugs but love the rehab. I’m 3 weeks post op, recovery is going well and I’ve had the most brilliant support from my family, my work place and my incredible friends. Practicing patience now while I heal…… so I can get back to work baby.’
Her famous friends were quick to take to the comments section to share supportive messages with the actress amid her recovery.
MAFS’ dating coach Mel Schilling commented: ‘Ooh sending you loads of love & hip strength darling. Go get em in rehab!’
While Packed to the Rafters star Hugh Sheridan said: ‘Hip hip hooray!! We’ll be bending and stretching on play school together again in no time.’

Simone Callahan, the ex-wife of late cricketer Shane Warne, wrote: ‘Sending healing vibes.’
And theatre star Christine Whelan Browne added: ‘Go get em Georgie.’
Georgie has previously opened up about her scoliosis diagnosis after undergoing her first hip replacement back in 2018.
Her hip issues stem from her being was diagnosed with scoliosis at the age of 13.
‘Every scoliosis is different, it’s like a fingerprint – but mine is all in the torso, I’ve lost about three inches in height,’ she told Body+Soul in 2020.

‘It’s endless work, but I’m up for a challenge,’ she told Now To Love in 2017 about dealing with the pain and stiffness associated with the condition.
‘It impacts me on a daily basis and I just have to stay fit to keep my back as functional as possible.
‘I’ve never resented [having scoliosis] and it’s made me realise how lucky I am that, while I have this significant challenge, I can still live my life pretty much how I want to.’
Her most recent surgery came not long after she appeared on stage at Sydney’s Ensemble Theatre to perform in The Great Divide alongside Kate Raison.
She also recently made a return to long-running children’s TV series Play School, sending fans completely wild.

Georgie became a fan favourite while hosting Play School from 2006 until 2012, and returned for a brand new series spanning the show’s decades on air.
ABC paid tribute to its rotation of Play School hosts with an extra special series called Big Ted’s Time Machine, featuring the return of many familiar faces.
Each episode sees a current presenting duo head back in time to a previous era, with past presenters cropping up for small cameos throughout the episodes.
Georgie returned to the franchise for the throwback 1970s episode and described her return as an ‘absolute joy’.
Elsewhere, Georgie also recently made a return to long-running children’s TV series Play School, sending fans completely wild (left in 2006 and right upon her return to the show)
She wrote on Instagram: What an absolute joy it was to be back on the Playschool set for @abckids and Big Ted’s Time Machine.
‘So many familiar faces and it brought back a lot of brilliant memories. This has been a beloved program for a few generations now. Hands up who used to watch it.’
Across its 363 seasons, Play School has been hosted by around 100 presenters, and many of them reappeared on screen to commemorate the show’s history.
Georgie was joined for the epic return by the likes of Monica Trapaga, Don Spencer and George Spartels, with many more cameos still to come.
