In bed, Valerie and Theo feel completely at peace. Valerie finally opens a little – explaining that she used to party a lot, and when her brother Josh died, the pills helped her cope with the pressure of it all.
The next day, Theo asks Valerie about sourcing more pills. Valerie immediately sobers – she warns that this isn’t a game and Theo needs to take it seriously. Theo eases her fears – promising that he’ll handle it.
Theo gets the money from the Moonlight at Salt gig from Kirby and calls up Valerie. She relents and starts to pull a few strings to get them another round. Is this the beginnings of a bad habit?
Meanwhile, Harper’s phone buzzes with countless notifications. She’s outed as having joined the dating app Smouldr. She matches with a guy who seems sweet, but she doesn’t know what to do next. Tane encourages her just to be herself. Harper takes his advice… and suddenly they’re setting up a date together.
Elsewhere, Xander is stumped coming up with the next Salt event. Dana leaps in – arguing that he definitely needs her help. Reflecting on Xander’s lovely but failed date with Harper, and Dana’s rocky relationship history, the two of them commiserate about being single and getting friend-zoned.
Dana tells Xander she thinks she’ll be single at 40 at this rate. He tells her that would be a shame because she’s a catch. Dana’s heart leaps, to her surprise. Is she suddenly crushing on Xander?
Also today, Leah and Justin head home after a wonderful night at Salt and Justin settles into bed, ready to spend another night alone. But the door opens to reveal Leah, finally comfortable enough to spend the night in the same bed. They embrace – for the first time in forever, it feels like home.
