Home and Away reveals change for Cash Newman after police exit
He takes on a new role to solve a case.
Home and Away is set to reveal an exciting career change for Cash Newman after his exit from the police.
Cash was suspended from his role after he helped Dana Matheson when she was on the run and therefore broke protocol.
While Dana was later proved innocent, Cash was still punished for breaking the rules and when he was told at a suspension review that he would be demoted with restricted duties, he refused and resigned from the police.
In upcoming scenes set to air in the UK next week, Roo Stewart and John Palmer are at loggerheads over whether to accept an anonymous donation that will ensure the future of the Surf Club.
John wins over the committee and the donation is accepted but Roo is determined to get to the bottom of who is behind the donation — even though Irene Roberts tries to convince her to concede defeat.
Roo reaches out to promoted police constable Rose Delaney for help, but Rose insists that her Surf Club dilemma isn’t an emergency and tells her to back off.
Cash later catches up with Rose, who is overwhelmed by her new workload and is grateful for some much-needed advice. Rose fills him in on the Surf Club case and Cash decides to take matters into his own hands.
Cash approaches Roo and tells her that he can help solve the mystery, but in the capacity of a private detective following his decision to leave the police.
Felicity is excited about her brother’s new role and is eager for gossip – until she finds out that his case is the “boring” anonymous donation to the Surf Club.
Dana is also thrilled when she gets across the investigation and she fills Cash in about Simon Henderson retracting his sponsorship, which is how the Surf Club was in trouble in the first place.
She’s buzzing with theories about who the donor might be, but Cash dismisses her role as his ‘Watson’ in the case. While she has helped, it ends now.
