George Knight lashes out as he hides devastating secret from daughter Gina in EastEnders
George learned more about his true parentage as he found out his adoptive father was a muršerer.
WHILE Eddie Knight is facing trial for murder, his son George is trying to process all the secrets that were unearthed before him.
Unfortunately, next week inĀ EastEnders, George lashes out against his daughter Gina, unable to tell her everything he knows.
George Knight (portrayed byĀ Colin Salmon) was reunited with his adoptive parents, Gloria (Elizabeth Counsell) and Eddie (Christopher Fairbank) Knight earlier in the year.
Although he may have been keen to know what the pair have been up to, George’s daughter Gina (Francesca Henry) was not as happy to see her grandparents once again as she maintains a distant and tense relationship with Eddie.
The character’s constant micro-aggressions directed as George and his daughter, particularly the colour of her skin hairstyle, didn’t sit well with Gina and she tried to make her father see sense.
Secrets began to unfold when George first found out his parents weren’t Jamaican, as he’d been led to believe for several years, but were actually West African migrants who had given him up.
Gina didn’t need to do too much work to make George realise that Eddie was dangerous as it was later revealed he had killed an African man.
To make matters worse, Eddie’s victim was said to be George’s biological father who had been hoping to take the then-teenager back from the Knights.
Coming up next week on BBC One, George is struggling to keep all these secrets to himself, particularly as Eddie is due to stand trial for the murder of his father, Henry Kofi Asare.
Aware that he isn’t feeling like himself, Gina tries to cheer George up ahead of Eddieās trial and books a family holiday to Jamaica on her credit card.
Sadly, George dismisses the idea as he has been concealing the truth about their heritage, leaving Gina stunned at this outburst.
In later scenes, Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) convinces George to tell their daughters Anna (Molly Rainford) and Gina the truth about his ancestry.
But Gina soon pleads for the family to visit Jamaica explaining sheās spent five grand on flights.
What will George say?
Will he accept the trip or tell his family the truth?
Viewers will remember that Eddie murdered Henry when his wife Gloria begged him to stop the latter from taking George away from them.
“He did it because I love you… because I didn’t want to say goodbye”, Gloria admitted in recent scenes of the long-running show, while Eddie and George were going head to head in The Queen Vic.
“I couldn’t let you go, it was my fault”, she added.
And while Gina knew what kind of person her grandfather was, Anna was still unaware of his ways and later learned that Eddie’s behaviour was racist.
As mentioned above, Eddie will be standing trial for murdering Henry – but what will be the outcome?
EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
