George Knight destroyed as Gloria 𝕕ies in devastating EastEnders outcome?

Is George set to lose Gloria?

Is he set to lose Gloria as well, or will she manage to pull through?

George Knight (Colin Salmon) had his whole life turned upside down in recent months after learning that his adopted dad Eddie Knight (Christopher Fairbank) murdered his biological father in chilling EastEnders scenes.

Unfortunately, the ordeal is far from over for the pub landlord, as he receives an unexpected call from the CPS in upcoming scenes, who tell him that Gloria Knight (Elizabeth Counsell) has given them information about Eddie.

The shocks keep coming for George when she later arrives at the Queen Vic and encourages him to testify in court.

However, when George later overhears a clandestine phone call between her and Eddie, he is angered as he realises that Gloria is unable to turn her back on her husband.

Is George set to lose Gloria?

Furious and hurt, George orders her out of his life for good.

As George gets ready to testify at Eddie’s trial later in the week, Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), having secretly spoken to Gloria, tries to convince him to talk to her, though he is quick to refuse.

Later, things get nasty when George is summoned to the Boxing Den and comes face to face with Eddie, who attempts to put him off testifying.

When George lashes out by revealing that it was Gloria who encouraged him to testify in the first place, Eddie issues a chilling threat.

Struggling with his conscience, George continues to shut out fiancé Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe), but she soon teams up with Cindy to get the truth out of him.

Together, the women convince George to testify against his dad, but during his cross-examination Gloria calls out in court, leaving Eddie disgusted.

When the court breaks, Eddie glares at George and Gloria, leaving her upset. As she struggles to contain her emotion, she flees from the court, only to collapse outside.

‘I don’t think people can underestimate the impact of stress on a human body,’ actor Colin Salmon explained. ‘I think one of the reasons Gloria and George are so close is they’ve both lived with Eddie who is a bully, which is one of the reasons George cares so much for her. She’s helped him get through it and he’s helped her get through it.

‘The fact that Eddie feels she has been treacherous, and he wants to punish her for it, is just too much for her. Gloria is a bit like a sparrow if you’ve ever caught one in your hand, you feel her heart pounding, and it just becomes too much – but I am glad George is able to be there for her.’

Gloria later wakes up in hospital having suffered a heart attack, and she asks George to retrieve a box from her flat containing information about his childhood.

He is quick to do as she asks, but after arriving at the flat becomes overwhelmed by his memories.

‘Gloria is his mum no matter what, so the thought of being without her, especially with this new opportunity to spend time with her away from Eddie’s control, is so sad,’ Colin revealed.

‘He envisions her being around for the kids, happy and laughing and being with the family, so the thought of that not happening is heartbreaking.’

George then heads to the Boxing Den, where he is interrupted by Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) who has just had bad news about Ben: He’s been sentenced to six years.

Phil offers George advice and encourages him to go back to the hospital, and back at Gloria’s bedside the mother and son take a trip down memory lane.

As he joins her on the bed, they listen to a lullaby recorded by his birth mother.

George recently discovered that his biological mother passed away just months ago, meaning that he never got the opportunity to meet her.

Is he set to lose Gloria as well, or will she manage to pull through?
