Finn Informs Steffy That His Mother’s Blood Is On Her Hands — and Hope and Brooke Get the Details of Sheila’s 𝔻eath
Ridge defends his daughter, Steffy reels from her husband's reaction, and Hope worries about Finn.
At the cliff house, Thomas tells Finn he can’t blame any of them for being relieved. Steffy reiterates that it was self-defense. Ridge says any one of them would have done the same thing. He reminds Finn that Sheila terrorized their family for decades, and shot him and Steffy and left them for dead in an alley. He’s sorry he called her an animal in front of him, but that’s who she was to him. She put this on herself. Finn grits, “That animal was my mother.”
At Forrester, Carter talks about looping in Katie as Brooke gawps, “Sheila’s really dead?” Carter confirms she is and says it happened at Steffy and Finn’s house. Hope and Brooke gasp. Brooke tells Carter they need more information. “Something horrible must have happened!”
Hope protests that the police have said Sheila was dead before. Carter says this time was different — they called it and removed her body from the scene. He relays that Thomas and Ridge raced over to check on Steffy after he told them. Brooke and Hope grill Carter some more and he clarifies that the police said Sheila was killed. Brooke wants to know who identified her. Carter doesn’t know. Hope declares that this is all too weird for her. After all the years of pain that Sheila has put them through, and then to find out about her connection to Finn, and then to her Dad… Brooke says finding out she’s gone is an unbelievable relief. Hope agrees. Brooke muses that she has fooled them before. Carter doesn’t think they have to worry about that anymore.
At the cliff house, Finn can’t understand how they can be so callous. His mother died right there. Ridge says it could have been one of his kids or his wife. Steffy says Sheila broke in and attacked her, “I grabbed a knife and reacted.” Thomas thinks Finn is in shock. Ridge thinks they should all sit down and figure out what’s next. Emotional and angry, Finn says that someone just died. “It was my mother. My mother!!”
Steffy is trying to be understanding toward Finn, but they’re all really freaked out right now. Thomas says they came to make sure Steffy is OK and that the cops don’t try to put this on her. Ridge reiterates that Finn’s wife was attacked. Finn’s grateful she’s OK, but what they don’t understand is that that animal gave him life. Ridge replies, “And then she tried to take it away.” Finn beats himself up for not getting there soon enough. He’s a doctor, they save people. “We’re not killers.” Ridge says Steffy’s not a killer either. Growing louder, he tells Finn this isn’t tragic; it’s a miracle. It’s a miracle his wife and kids weren’t harmed. His mother came over there to harm someone. “Look at me!” Ridge booms. Finn wipes away tears as Ridge says, “This is your wife. You need to be strong for her. She went through something very traumatic.” Finn retorts, “Yeah, she killed my mom! She killed her!”
Steffy thinks Ridge and Thomas should go. Ridge tells his daughter she did the right thing. The only thing she could have done. He’ll make sure everyone understands that. We’ll pick up the kids.” Thomas hugs Steffy after Ridge does, and they exit. Steffy turns to Finn and says, “You feel so far away right now.” She wants to talk and support each other. “We can get through it. We can get through anything.” Finn stares at the blood on the floor.
At Forrester, Brooke gets a message from Ridge saying he and Thomas are on the way to the office. Hope wants to know if the kids are safe. Carter says they wouldn’t have left if they weren’t. They speculate about what Sheila was doing at the house. Carter says she was obsessed with Finn. Brooke and Hope tell Carter about Sheila and Steffy’s confrontation at Deacon’s and Steffy punching Sheila in the face. Just then, Thomas and Ridge walk through the door, with Ridge telling Carter they need to make some phone calls. Brooke, Hope, and Carter all ask questions. Brooke wants to know if it’s true that Sheila is dead.
At the cliff house, Steffy tries to get Finn’s attention as he stares at the floor. She can see how upset he is about what happened. “It was horrific. I don’t know how Sheila got in here. Maybe she was the reason the power went out.” When she turned around, Sheila was right there. She kept coming toward her. She didn’t want to die, so she grabbed a knife. “I did what I had to do to protect myself. I stabbed Sheila.” Finn says, “You killed my mother.”
At Forrester, Ridge tells Brooke and the others that it’s true. “The witch is dead.” He explains that Finn is at the house now, but even dead, Sheila causes problems for their family. “It was justified and Sheila had it coming.” He and Thomas explain that Steffy was home alone, the power went out, and Sheila broke in, attacked and threatened Steffy. Hope asks, “Was Steffy able to call the police.” Ridge says they got there after… “After Steffy killed Sheila.” Thomas adds, “Steffy was able to grab a knife. She had to do it.” Ridge adds, “It was Sheila or her.” Hope gawps, “Does Finn know?! Does Finn know that Steffy killed his birth mom?!”
At the cliff house, Finn tears up over the thought of something happening to Steffy or the kids. Steffy says she thought Sheila was going to shoot her. “So you plunged a knife into her?” Steffy exclaims that she lunged at her. How many times does she have to tell him that she reacted and defended herself? She didn’t want this, but she had to protect herself. “I’m sorry!” Finn squints, “You’re sorry? You’re sorry for killing my mom?” Finn battles his emotions and then walks over to the blood stain. He kneels down and touches it, and cries. Steffy asks, “What are you doing?” Finn looks at his blood-covered hand and stands up. Steffy steps toward him, but he backs away. “My mom’s blood is on my hand. And yours, Steffy.”
