Fans of the ITV soap opera were left shocked when it was revealed that Gus and his wife Lucy had stolen his and Rhona’s embryos without her permission.

When Lucy died, Rhona attempted to be there for Ivy as Gus struggled but it soon all came crashing down when Rhona attempted to take all motherly responsibilities.

The ensuring fallout was catastrophic and found Rhona on trial but she was aquitted for the kidnapping of Ivy.

But now the vet is set to find herself in court once again, this time facing off against Gus for him stealing the eggs to create Ivy in the first place.

In upcoming scenes, Marlon and Mary are left shocked when Gus pays them an unexpected visit ahead of his court appearance.

Gus decides to talk to them about future plans for Ivy as he contemplates what will happen to her if he is sent to prison for his fraudulent activity.

He assures both Mary and Marlon that he wants them to be in Ivy’s life no matter what happens.

The pair are left cynical as a result of Gus’ past empty promises.

Rhona and Marlon talk things through at home and ahead of the sentencing are grateful for each other’s support.

In an attempt to move forward and create a settled atmosphere ahead of the hearing, both Rhona and Gus agree to do the right thing by Ivy with all future decisions.

Apprehensive at his court sentencing, it is obvious that Rhona is battling some demons regarding Gus and although Marlon does all he can to settle her, she is unable to shake her thoughts of what exactly will happen in court.

Having penned a statement, Rhona cannot decide how best to speak about the ordeal for the benefit of baby Ivy, herself and Gus.

Will she change her words to support Gus or will she lay bare the situation for all of the court to see and judge for themselves.
