Emmerdale video sees April Windsor open up after devastating 𝕕eath tragedy

Once Cathy got her hands on the keys to Wendy’s car, April decided to stay in the village, knowing she’d get in trouble when they’d inevitably get caught.

April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) is questioned by a police officer in tonight’s (Wednesday, January 3) episode of Emmerdale following Heath Hope’s (Sebastian Dowling) death.

Heath died at the start of this week after being involved in a car crash with Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling) and Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes).

When Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) and Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) found the trio after they crashed into a wall, Cathy and Angelica had escaped the car – but Heath was still trapped inside.

Sadly the teen couldn’t be saved, leaving Bob to break the devastating news to the likes of Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop), Jimmy King (Nick Miles) and Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) that his son had died.

Due the nature of Heath’s death, as well as Cathy driving the car while being underage and slightly intoxicated, an investigation is underway.

In this new video, we see Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) supporting April as she is questioned by PC Swirling.

Viewers will remember that on New Year’s Eve, April was hanging around with Cathy, Heath and Angelica before they decided to joyride into town.

Once Cathy got her hands on the keys to Wendy’s car, April decided to stay in the village, knowing she’d get in trouble when they’d inevitably get caught.

In the clip, April tells Swirling what the group of friends got up to before their plans changed.

A tearful April goes on to say that she didn’t get into the car because she knew she’d get into trouble, and that Cathy was definitely driving when they left.

Clearly overwhelmed, April breaks down and says she could’ve done more during that moment, but Marlon reminds his daughter that she absolutely isn’t to blame for the crash, let alone Heath’s death.

She’ll need a lot of support from her family and friends, but can April get through the next few weeks as the police try and work out what happened during the crash?
