Emmerdale spoilers: Worrying new signs from sinister Tom King ahead of wedding to Belle Dingle

Is the wedding doomed for disaster

Tom King (James Chase) is continuing to give cause for concern in upcoming Emmerdale episodes as his behaviour towards Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) becomes increasingly worrying.

Viewers will recall the shocking revelation in Dingle Court Week when it was revealed that Tom had aggressively pushed Belle away after she turned down his marriage proposal. She fell and cracked her head on a table. Tom was apologetic and begged her forgiveness, which she gave.

In the light of that and a few other concerning bits of behaviour from Tom, their ‘fairytale’ engagement when Belle proposed to Tom at and ice rink in front of Torvill and Dean might not have appeared so fairytale after all.

Could Tom be trusted? Was the aggression part of a controlling pattern of behaviour? Or was it, as he insisted, a mistake that would never be repeated?

Is the wedding doomed for disaster?

Soon after the engagement Tom was posting all about it on the socials without consulting Belle first. OK, he was excited, but still.

There was more to come when he told Belle he’d booked the wedding without consulting her either.

In upcoming episodes there’s more of the same as Tom goes ahead with wedding plans without giving Belle the chance to have a say in what is supposed to be her big day as well.

She puts her foot down and demands to be kept in the loop and he agrees. She’s particularly worried that having a big wedding is insensitive in light of the fact that many of the villagers are still dealing with the aftermath of Heath Hope (Sebastian Dowling)’s tragic death.

Tom agrees to step back a bit, but he soon becomes irritated when he finds out that Marlon (Mark Charnock) is doing the wedding cake.

He also causes upset when he walks into Suzy (Martelle Edinborough)’s office and sees Belle’s wedding dress – considered to be bad luck before the wedding.

Minor things, perhaps, but it’s all a bit of a pattern of behaviour as Tom seems to want to be in control of every aspect of the relationship.

As the wedding approaches, is Belle heading into a nasty situation?
