Emmerdale spoilers – Vanessa Woodfield stunned as she holds Rhona Goskirk’s prison fate in her hands
Rhona’s fate is up in the air. Could Vanessa’s testimony be the reason Rhona goes to jail?
Emmerdale’s Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) put a strain on her friendship with Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) when she called the police on her but sending her to prison might just ring the death knell on their BFF status.
Rhona is facing kidnapping charges after stealing baby Ivy away from Gus (Alan McKenna) when he returned to collect his daughter after a mental health break.
In a moment of panic, Rhona packed up her and Ivy’s things, and ran away to a holiday home to hide while she planned her next steps.
And big next steps they were – initially she thought she might run to Scotland, but she called pal Vanessa in Canada for some friendly advice and began considering running over there instead.
Rhona’s fate is up in the air
The good best friend she is, Vanessa hopped straight on a plane and flew to Rhona’s side.
But she wasn’t the ally Rhona had been expecting. Instead, Vanessa made it clear she did not support Rhona’s plan and held a mirror up to her pal’s bonkers behaviour.
But when Rhona wouldn’t see sense, Vanessa took matters into her own hands – and called the police.
A few weeks and a few more ructions with Gus down the line, Rhona is now counting down the days to her court date.
It’s a frightening time as she contemplates life inside but is erring on the side of positive that with all things considered, she should be fine.
But then some fresh bad news hits. Vanessa learns she could be the key to Rhona’s fate going the way no one wants as she is expected to be a witness for the prosecution.
