Emmerdale spoilers – Paddy devastated over sudden 𝕕eath as Aaron faces his terrifying fate

Conflict and tragedy next week

Emotions are running high in Emmerdale next week, with a family facing up to an uncertain future, and news of a sad death reaching the community.

After intervention from dodgy doc Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) is forced to open up about the truth of his gene test results to mum Chas (Lucy Pargeter).

As Chas is rocked by this turn of events, Aaron later admits that he is looking at the results as a death sentence.

And the week doesn’t improve at all for Chas as she is caught up in a conflict caused by Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) – and finds herself elbowed in the chest where she is healing from surgery.

Conflict and tragedy next week

Not only that, but she finds herself in an unexpected love triangle after conflicted Liam falls into a relationship with Ella (Paula Lane).

Meanwhile, following the real life passing of Meg Johnson, the death of Pearl Ladderbanks hits the villagers hard.

Monday April 1

Liam desperately tries to cover the truth of Aaron’s real result in the gene test in the face of Chas’ probing questions.

As Liam hurriedly exits, Chas is deeply concerned as to what he’s implied. When Chas asks Aaron a direct question about the gene test, he betrays the truth by looking uneasy.

Aaron’s gone straight to anger and denial as he struggles to process his emotions now that his mum knows the truth. Aaron makes clear to Liam that he’s crossed a line and launches an attack.

Paddy, Rhona and Vanessa are tearful upon hearing that Pearl has passed away. Paddy feels close to Pearl as he wears the last jumper she’ll ever knit for him. 

Vanessa’s utterly shaken to hear that she’ll be expected to be a prosecution witness at Rhona’s trial.

Jai does his best to hide his guilt.

Tuesday April 2

Injured Liam desperately persuades Chas to stop from immediately confronting Aaron and to take a different tack, a tender moment between Liam and Chas is witnessed by Ella.

Chas’ sensitive approach starts to break through Aaron’s barriers until he eventually confesses that the gene test result feels like a death sentence.

When Aaron is able to open up about his fears to Chas, they both know he’s made a massive step forward.

Jacob’s crushed to hear that his dad’s never coming home and Victoria’s guilt is overwhelming as she struggles to reconcile how her pursuit of happiness with Jacob has made so many other people unhappy.

Wednesday April 3

Charity finally convinces Chas to lay everything on the line in her pursuit of Liam. Meanwhile, Ella’s motivated to capture Liam’s heart, after Leyla assures her that Liam only has eyes after misinterpreting a conversation with him earlier.

Chas and Liam are finally prepared to tell each other how they feel, before Ella intervenes.

Following a kiss, Liam is powerless to resist Ella’s request that they become a couple.

She’s elated, while he’s thrown to find himself committed to the wrong person.

When Liam explains the Ella/Chas mix-up to Leyla, she urges him to go and get the right woman with no delay; Liam’s ready to give it his all….

Paddy reminds Aaron he’ll always be there for him

Thursday April 4

Tom is perturbed to get a text from Belle saying she’ll be late home from work. When his tracker app shows she’s in a moving car, he’s livid.

Belle’s guilty as she covers that she’s still at work rather than in the Hide when Tom calls to find out her whereabouts. Knowing her real location from his tracker app, Tom’s fuming.

Tom walks into the Hide and spots Belle apparently having the time of her life. Tom does his best to stop his passive aggression leaking through his good humoured façade as he pretends he’s fine with Belle continuing to socialise at the Hide.

Back home and unable to cope with his lack of control over Belle’s life, Tom loses control of himself and trashes the place in a fit of rage.

Kerry vows to pay for Amy and Matty’s wedding but will she reveal the true source of the funds? 

Moira makes clear her feelings about Claudette ruining Matty’s wedding plans. Claudette’s uneasy at the damage her callous words have ended up causing but  Matty finds it in his heart to forgive Claudette when she makes a heartfelt apology.

Ruby’s furious to find out her carefully laid plans for a life away from the village with Caleb have been undone by a single conversation with Chas.

Caleb receives a warm welcome in the Woolpack, but it quickly sours when Ruby follows him in, spoiling for a fight. A slanging match in the pub between Ruby and the Dingles takes a dark turn when Ruby accidentally elbows Chas in the chest.

In the fallout from Ruby injuring Chas, Ruby’s left broken and alone after Caleb sides with the Dingles and publicly rejects her. Ruby’s inconsolable as she sits outside the pub on her own.

Dawn is worried for her when Caleb emerges from the pub, incandescent with rage. Will Ruby be able to make Caleb believe that she elbowed Chas by accident?

Friday April 5

Amy has her hen do and Victoria’s irked when Kerry brings out some naked butlers she’s hired, the night is starting to look like it’s going to be the Kerry show.

Matty gets emotional on his stag do on his own stag do as he looks to the future.

Ruby is uneasy as she faces the music over her recent actions.
