Emmerdale spoilers: Marlon Dingle’s fears for Charity as he makes worrying realisation

Marlon realises something is going on with Charity. Will she open up to Marlon?

Since the dramatic events at Christmas in Emmerdale, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) has been struggling – but has been trying to hide it and carry on as normal.

Charity is tormented by the events in the disused factory, where gangster Damon ‘Harry’ Harris (Robert Beck) had kept Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) prisoner for several days. Harry was the father of Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland), who’d asked him to help her get herself and baby Reuben away from Mack.

It soon became clear that Harry’s solution to the Mack problem would have been eventually to kill him, so when Charity and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) followed Harry to the warehouse and Charity realised what was going on, she charged in to rescue Mack.

A gun that Harry had been pointing at Mackenzie went off as Charity struggled with Harry – and he was killed.

While the police were satisfied that Charity wasn’t to blame for Harry’s death, she’s been tortured by guilt ever since, with the horror of the scene playing out repeatedly in her mind.

Any loud noise terrifies her and when she’s alone she turns the radio on to try to keep her obsessive thoughts and anxiety at bay. But outwardly she tries to be the same old Charity that everyone expects to see.

It isn’t working, though. Her son Moses (Arthur Cockroft) has been affected as she’s often angry and stressed with him. Mackenzie and Moira (Natalie J. Robb) have both tried to get her to open up, but Charity insists on keeping up the facade that everything is fine.

In upcoming episodes Charity isn’t being herself at all, and Marlon (Mark Charnock) realises there’s something on her mind.

There’s obviously a lot going on in the family, as they’re all worried about Chas’s cancer diagnosis. For Marlon he has the additional worry about Rhona (Zoe Henry) and her increasing obsession with baby Ivy.

But he knows that something is very wrong with Charity and she needs help.
