Emmerdale spoilers: Dawn makes a heartbreaking admission as baby Evan fights for life
Dawn and Billy clashed
Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) tried to talk to Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) about finding the ‘new normal’ in Thursday’s (May 16) episode of Emmerdale, but the couple failed to land on the same page.
Ever since Evan’s leukaemia diagnosis, Dawn has spent an awful lot of time at hospital, and barely any time at home.
Of course, it’s expected for Dawn to want to be by Evan’s side all of the time, but it has left Billy feeling like he is juggling more than her.
As well as trying to earn enough money, Billy is also busy looking after Clemmie and Lucas. A lot to handle for anyone given their young ages, but Evan’s illness and Dawn’s absence will no doubt make looking after them a little more challenging.
Dawn and Billy clashed
In tonight’s episode, Billy visited Dawn and Evan in the hospital again.
Billy started talking about ‘long term plans’ and how they need to find a good balance between life in the hospital, and life back in the village.
He said that Dawn should come home and have ‘family time’, but she couldn’t help but feel Evan would be an ‘afterthought’ if he was left in the care of doctors and nurses while she spent time with her other children.
With Dawn and Billy unable to meet each other halfway, the tense conversation ended with Billy walking out and Dawn being left with poorly Evan on her own again.
Back at Home Farm, Billy chatted to Will (Dean Andrews) and Rose (Christine Tremarco) about letting other people in the family help him more.
Billy was grateful for Will’s comments but ultimately, if he’s unable to connect with Dawn and adapt to the massive change in their lives, the next few months are going to be even tougher.
