Emmerdale spoilers – Cain Dingle exacts violent revenge on Ruby Fox-Miligan with a sledgehammer

Probably best to ignore Cain for a few days after this, Ruby

It’s fair to say Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) is not Ruby Fox-Miligan’s (Beth Cordingly) biggest fan, and it’s also fair to say he is not a man who can control his anger. Combine the two and it’s a disaster waiting to happen.

Ruby is a master of rubbing people up the wrong way, and one person she’s seen as a particular challenge is Cain, who she wants gone from Caleb’s (Will Ash) life. Her first step was to drive a wedge between the brothers – achieved when she revealed Caleb’s affair with Tracey at Belle’s wedding.

But she is mistaken if she thinks in a fight with Cain, she gets the last word.

Ruby has decided that trying to separate Caleb from his beloved Dingles is not working, so instead plans to kill them with kindness, or rather – gifts – instead.

A furious Cain confronts Ruby in the Emmerdale village

This disingenuous act enrages the beast and Cain decides it’s time for extreme action by giving Ruby a violent message.

He grabs a sledgehammer and goes to work.

Cain rounds up the air fryers Ruby has gifted the Dingles and one by one he smashes them to smithereens, leaving the place looking like the aftermath a rage room. But will Ruby heed the violent warning to back off?

Of course not, she is not perturbed and even enlists Chas’ (Lucy Pargeter) help to get Cain onside – preying on her post-op vulnerability.

Ruby arranges an impromptu gathering for all the Dingles, but Cain is seething to realise he’s been tricked into seeing Caleb.

As the event goes on, Ruby’s drinking gathers steam, and the bewildered lot find themselves receiving an unexpected karaoke performance as she tries to appeal to Caleb for forgiveness. Chaos ensues.

Caleb is forced to defend her, and it gives Cain the clear message Caleb isn’t a true Dingle. Things are worse than ever.

It’s at breaking point between Cain and Caleb. Even so, Ruby is still anxious she doesn’t have Caleb’s full attention. What’s her next plan?

Next day, Nate discovers Caleb doubled over in pain, and he has a decision to make – help his ailing uncle, or leave him to suffer for what he’s done?
