Emmerdale spoilers: Belle’s panic after vicious Tom’s jibe ahead of doomed wedding

Superstition has got the better of Emmerdale’s Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) ahead of her wedding to Tom King (James Chase).
Viewers of the ITV soap have watched in horror as Belle has tolerated her fiancé’s controlling behaviour over the last few months.
In terrifying scenes, the lovestruck business woman quickly forgive Tom when he violently pushed her away after she declined his proposal, causing her to crack her head on the side table.
She even went as far as going back on her word and arranging a perfect proposal herself, roping Tom’s Olympic heroes Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean to help with the occasion.

Upcoming scenes will see the couple face another setback over the iconic Dingle surname that Belle so desperately wants to keep, but is put out when Tom manipulates her into becoming a King.
In tonight’s (February 8th) episode, Tom called into Take a Vow to check on Suzy’s (Martelle Edinborough) last minute wedding prep, and caught her zipping up a beautiful white wedding dress.
Insisting that he didn’t believe the fallacy surrounding the groom seeing his bride’s wedding dress before the ceremony, Tom headed off to his stag do at The Woolpack.
The age-old superstition comes from the days when arranged marriages were common, and the couple weren’t allowed to see each other at all until the bride lifted her veil at the altar.
This was in case there wasn’t an attraction between the two that would ruin the business deal between their respective fathers.
Times have changed significantly, and despite Suzy’s nerves to admit what happened to Belle, she didn’t seem too bothered.
However, later in the evening, at her hen do, drunk Gail Loman (Rachel Gill-Davis) started spilling horror stories about her friend whose wedding was ruined after her husband saw her dress.
At the end of the night, when the couple headed home after their respective parties, Belle admitted that she wasn’t going to let the incident bother her, but an intoxicated Tom was quick to jump in saying she didn’t have to ‘make do’ with the ‘cheap’ dress she had her heart set on, and that he would buy her a new one, leaving her heartbroken.
Will Belle realise that she could be making a huge mistake before Tom’s behaviour goes too far?
