Emmerdale spoilers: Arthur moves Brenda Walker with touching gesture after Heath’s 𝕕eath and we’re all crying

It’s a tough time for Brenda

In Emmerdale, Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) is inconsolable by the passing of her step-son Heath Hope (Sebastian Dowling). Since Heath’s father Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) believes that his daughter Cathy (Gabrielle Dowling) was operating the stolen vehicle when it crashed and killed Heath, Heath has been held accountable for the New Year’s Eve automobile tragedy.

In addition to taking care of Cathy, Brenda has been attempting to keep the family together by persuading Bob to speak with his daughter and to accept Cathy’s account of Angelica King’s (Rebecca Bakes) account of what really happened when the automobile crashed.

It’s a tough time for Brenda

Brenda is going through a very difficult moment, made worse by the news that her lover Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

In the episode from Wednesday, January 10, she made the decision to return to her job at the café. Working with Angelica’s mother, Nicola (Nicola Wheeler), would make this difficult.

Arthur Thomas (Alfie Clarke), who was obviously Heath’s school mate, was one of Brenda’s first clients.

For a muffin to take to college, he stopped by. Brenda questioned how it felt to be back at college as her dejected expression brightened at the sight of him. He began to explain that day he had played music with Heath. Brenda was aware of his intended statement even though he stopped himself.

Despondent, she murmured, “It just hit me that he’s not coming back.” She made an effort to continue delivering his muffin, but eventually it all became too much, and she needed some time to mourn. Despite the fact that he had done nothing wrong, Arthur felt awful.

Arthur later spotted Brenda outside the B&B, admiring the words and flowers people had left for Heath as he was returning from college.

When Brenda saw him, she grinned and remarked on how remarkable Heath had been to so many people.

Arthur said that he had a gift for her. In an assembly, the school honoured Heath, and the pupils signed a shirt with sentiments to him along the lines of “Like we do on the last day of school.” Arthur showed her the shirt that was covered with messages and autographs and told her it was a tradition.

He said, “We did it so you’d know he’s never going to be forgotten.”

With tears in her eyes, Brenda told him it was beautiful and that she would place the garment in Heath’s room.

“Heath ought to have returned to college this week as well,” she said while wiping away tears. She assured Arthur that she would be OK on her alone if he needed to return.

The most charming man in the world, Arthur, asked if he might remain and offered to read her a few of the texts.

“Sure, please,” she grinned.

To be honest, we’re not even sobbing. Okay, so maybe not that much.
