Emmerdale spoilers: Ailing Eric Pollard targeted by evil đť•śiller

Poor Eric is targeted

We were shocked but not surprised by recent Emmerdale revelations about Amit Sharma (Anil Goutam).

The businessman revealed, in an exchange with his solicitor Bill (Philip Buck) that it’s more than likely that Amit deliberately pushed his brother, Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel), down the stairs at home because he wanted to keep 100% of their Uncle Ravi’s legacy for himself.

While Amit has always insisted that Rishi’s fall was an accident and all he did was to flee the scene because he didn’t want to be suspected of pushing him, there’s always been something creepy and suspicious about Amit – and that scene with Bill finally proved it.

As far as the rest of the villagers are concerned, however, everyone apart from Jai (Chris Bisson) thinks he’s fine, and even Jai has learned to tolerate him recently.

So there’s a nasty twist in store when Amit’s evil side is revealed again, and this time his target is another beloved village elder – Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell).

When Amit discovers that Pollard is fairly well off, he comes up with a plan and challenges the other man to a pool game.

They raise the stakes by betting money on their next game, and Pollard’s having a great time, relishing the challenge. To gain his trust, Amit deliberately lets him win.

Once he has Pollard where he wants him, Amit tempts his new friend with a lucrative business proposition.

Rodney (Patrick Mower) is concerned, and warns Pollard that he shouldn’t entirely trust Amit, but Pollard is a stubborn man and insists he knows what he’s doing. Plus, after having to contend with his Parkinson’s diagnosis, Pollard is excited to be back in a situation where he’s using his business skills.

He tells Amit that he’s fully committed to their joint venture and it seems that Amit is ready to take full advantage of Pollard’s vulnerable situation.

But the following day Amit is shocked when Pollard says he needs to talk to Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) before transferring his cash over to the new venture, and he begins a campaign of trying to convince Eric to move the money while trying not to come across as too desperate.

Is Pollard about to lose everything by trusting evil killer Amit?
