Emmerdale ‘seals’ Angelica King’s return as out of control 𝕕evil child as Jimmy gets unsettling news
We’re getting worried!
Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes)’s life changed in an instant in Emmerdale when she decided to get behind the wheel of a car on the way to a new Year. party. Tragically she lost control of the vehicle and it crashed, killing Heath Hope (Sebastian Dowling) who had been one of the passengers.
At the age of only 14, Angelica was eventually charged with driving offences and was recently sentenced to eight months in a secure children’s home in Bristol.
It was obviously a massively daunting prospect for the girl, who before that point hadn’t really been involved in any trouble at all and was generally shy and quiet. Her parents, Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) and Jimmy (Nick Miles), were terrified that she wouldn’t be able to cope in the secure home where there would doubtless be people who were much tougher than her.
They got Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper), who had also spent time in a secure children’s home, to talk to Angel about her experiences as they feared Angel had the impression that it might all be quite fun and easy.
We’re getting worried!
This intervention ended up traumatising both Belle and Angel, as the former was forced to relive some painful experiences and the latter was left in total fear about what might lie ahead.
In Wednesday (April 3)’s episode, Tom King (James Chase) had invited his aunt and uncle Nicola and Jimmy for lunch with him and Belle. Tom failed to turn up as he was out with Paddy (Dominic Brunt) and Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) celebrating a new contract he’d won for the vet’s – though he didn’t bother telling Belle this and left her to carry on without him.
Jimmy arrived alone and said that Nicola wouldn’t be coming as she was on the phone to the secure home. ‘Angelica’s been playing up again,’ he explained.
‘It’s her attitude that’s driving them up the wall. Imagine – a place like that, full of all sorts, and our Angel’s the one that’s pushing them to the limit.’
Jimmy looked like he had the cares of the world on his shoulders and, in an effort to get his head around what was going on with Angel, he asked Belle if he could ask her a few questions about life in a secure unit. Awkward all round.
If Angelica serves out her full sentence we won’t be seeing her until the autumn. Actress Rebecca Bakes teased her return on her Instagram, saying, ‘Had an amazing time filming this storyline can’t wait to get back to it.’
Nicola King told us that when Angel does return, she could be a very different person to the one who left.
‘Looking to the future I would just say what is to come? What is Angel going to be like when she leaves the place? That’s the big question, isn’t it?’
Based on what we’ve heard in this episode, it seems we can expect quite a lot of trouble for the Kings when their daughter returns. Will Angel have turned into a bit of a devil?
