Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ major Mackenzie and Aaron 𝕕eath twist

Emmerdale fans were heartbroken last night as teenager Heath Hope (Sebastian Dowling) died in an unexpected and devastating twist.

On New Year’s Eve, Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling), Heath and Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes) decided to steal Wendy Posner’s (Susan Cookson) car so they could get to a party in Hotten.

With Cathy behind the wheel and slightly intoxicated, it wasn’t long until disaster struck, with the trio later being found by Wendy and Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) after the vehicle crashed into a wall.

While Cathy and Angelica got away with cuts and bruises, Heath didn’t survive the ordeal, with Bob later breaking the news to Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) and his friends that his son had died.

Are they hiding a secret?

The traumatic event shocked Emmerdale fans but for some, they are starting to wonder if two other village residents may have secretly been the reason Cathy swerved the car.

Earlier on in the episode, Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) were seen driving around, clearly up to no good once more.

After a comment about a ‘close call’ with another car, did Mackenzie and Aaron come across the teens, which ultimately lead to Cathy crashing?

One Twitter/X user wondered: ‘Why do I think Mack or Aaron might have inadvertently been involved in the Accident or even Nate as he was on the road at the time.’

Another speculated: ‘There’s more to this crash. Did Mack have some involvement?’.

‘It was quite a shock that that’s what they were doing’, actor Tony Audenshaw said, revealing his reaction to this huge twist.

‘But obviously it’s a really important storyline and I hope it’s one that they do justice to.

‘It’s quite extraordinary that they’re brother and sister. It does often happen with young people that it’s their mates or girlfriend or boyfriend, it’s somebody they know.

‘Not only are they dealing with the fact that they’ve killed somebody, or somebody’s died in an accident, but it’s somebody that they actually love.

‘Then the whole network of friends and family around are angry and they’re grieving and I’m sure that’s what’s going to unfold.’
