Emmerdale fans were disappointed after soap bosses issued an update in the middle of the latest episode.

Viewers of the long-running ITV drama watched on Thursday as Ruby Fox-Milligan become furious to find out her plans for a life away from the village with husband Caleb Milligan had been scuppered. One conversation with Chas Dingle had led to Caleb questioning if he wanted to leave his family.

He told Ruby just as she had found the “perfect” home for them to buy together in Harrogate and she was not best pleased.

Things came to a head in the Woolpack as Ruby began to insult the Dingles and soon there was a slanging match. As things became heated Ruby accidentally elbowed Chas – who is recovering from a double mastectomy – in the chest.

She told Caleb: “I’m not a psycho” but he simply replied: “Are you not?”

As the episode continued, Emmerdale bosses issued an update on the soap’s official Instagram account. The post featured a number of stills from the dramatic scenes in the Woolie and was captioned: “Ruby’s really done it this time! For advice and support go to itv.com/advice”.

Fans have been quick to respond in the comments section, as Cathy said: “Don’t like it” and Kerry said: “Was hoping Charity would give her a smack”. Matt, however, said: “Unpopular opinion, really felt for Ruby tonight. Love her and Caleb”.

Tracy said: “Ruby has gone too far. I think this will lead to a total revenge storyline on the Dingles”.
