Manpreet had developed a crush on Billy – her personal trainer – in recent episodes, and after drinking with some of the other female villagers, she attempted to kiss him outside the pub.

Billy quickly put a stop to it and Manpreet was mortified, however she didn’t realise that Charles’ mum Claudette had witnessed her actions.

In tonight’s episode, Charles attempted to cook a romantic meal for Manpreet to make up for being off with her since she turned down his marriage proposal a few weeks ago.

But his mum advised him to speak to Manpreet, as he didn’t know the whole truth about their situation, leaving him concerned.

However, he soon found out as he witnessed his partner apologising to Billy in the middle of the street.

As their conversation ended, Manpreet turned and realised Charles had heard everything.

Back in the house, a wounded and furious Charles asked Manpreet: “When did I stop being enough?”

Manpreet said she loved him, and he replied: “You’re not in love with me, you didn’t want to marry me…and it hurt, it really hurt.

“But you know what, me dodged a bullet.”

As he turned away from her, Manpreet desperately tried to salvage things, saying: “You don’t mean that, I’m not going to let this ruin everything we have.”

But spinning back round, Charles shouted: “You don’t get it do you?! You already have” before he stormed out.
