Emmerdale Christmas spoilers: Terrifying car chase leaves lives in peril in devastating New Year
An outing to a New Year party goes horribly wrong in Emmerdale – and lives are in danger as a result.
Twins Heath and Cathy Hope (Sebastian and Gabrielle Dowling) get news of a party in Hotten, and they’re desperate to go. The problem is that, with no public transport, they’re reliant on someone giving them a lift and all of the adults are busy.
Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) has got an event on at the B&B and Bob (Tony Audenshaw) is busy helping out with the food and drinks.
They hope that Heath and Cathy might be around to help out, but when they’re wanted they can’t be found anywhere.
The teens want to go to a party in Hotten
Jimmy (Nick Miles) is sent to look for them, but meanwhile Wendy (Susan Cookson) makes a shocking discovery. Having been called in to work she goes out to her car – only to find that it’s missing.
On hearing the news, Bob rushes out and sees April (Amelia Flanagan), who tells him that the twins have taken Wendy’s car and gone off – and Nicola’s daughter Angelica (Rebecca Bakes) is with them.
None of the three has a driving license and Bob is naturally terrified about what might happen on the dark country roads between Emmerdale and Hotten so Wendy and Bob jump into Bob’s car and head off in pursuit.
As Nicola anxiously waits for news back at the B&B – after all, Angelica has already been injured in a car crash already this year – her daughter is busy flirting with Heath as Cathy drives them towards Hotten.
Heath and Angelica get frustrated by Cathy’s slow driving and urge her to speed up. Cathy puts her foot down, and even a near miss with another car doesn’t slow her down as she swerves around the twists and turns of the country roads.
Meanwhile Bob and Wendy frantically try to catch up to the other car, anxious to catch a sight of the lights and terrified that they’ll be too late to prevent a disaster.
Will they be there in time?
