EASTENDERS are set to air a controversial underage sex storyline with Denzel Danes at the forefront.
The BBC soap opera has shown how teen characters Denzel and Amy Mitchell have had a close relationship over the past year but now fans will see them attempt to take things to the next level.
Denzel and Amy have been a support to one another over the past year following Amy’s issues with mental health.
They have been a comfort blanket for one another and have defied the odds even when their parents were wary of them spending lots of time together.
In upcoming scenes, BBC viewers will witness how the relationship takes steps to moving forward but it won’t be without a few bumps in the road.
Amy will be seen to be becoming increasingly jealous as Denzel gets friendly with new school pal, Ebony.
Denzel and Ebony spend more and more time together as their budding friendship begins to take centre stage.
Amy confides in Penny Branning where she admits that she is desperate to sleep with Denzel.

Penny makes it clear to Amy that she should only be sleeping with Denzel if she really wants to and not because of any external pressures.
Determined to push ahead and sleep with him, she moves forward with a plan.
As Denzel finally manages to get the house to himself, he decides to throw a party.
It is there that Amy decides to put her plan into action as she suggests to Denzel that they go upstairs for alone time away from prying eyes.
Upstairs, they attempt to have sex with each other but Denzel struggles to perform as a result of his current steroid intake.
Reassuring him that it is fine, Amy brushes it off but Denzel is left rattled.
As he tries to cover up what has happened, he manages to hurt and offend Amy in the process.
Will this be the wake-up call that Denzel needs to finally ditch the steroids?
Or is the budding teen love story over once and for all?
