This article contains spoilers for the first episode of EastEnders set to air on Thursday (July 4), which has not yet been shown on TV but is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
The Panesar/Gulati family were left devastated when Nugget Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) ended up in hospital after collapsing.
When doctors revealed that it had been a result of his steroid use, mum Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) was horrified, while dad Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) grew determined to get to the bottom of how he got hold of them.
Having caught wind of the incident, the police soon arrived to question Nugget and the family, revealing that dealing steroids could carry a 14 year prison sentence.
Denzel is in serious trouble
However, Nugget refused to give them any information on where the steroids had come from, falsely insisting that he’d bought them online.
Viewers will know that Nugget’s steroids came from best friend Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega), who began taking them after being attacked by bully Logan.
With Ravi on the rampage to figure out the culprit, Denzel was clearly panicking – and soon revealed the whole truth to Zack Hudson (James Farrar), who had always suspected that something was going on with the teen boys.
Denzel explained all about the attack, and how he had failed to save Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) from getting hurt.
Following their chat, Denzel headed to the hospital, where he finally admitted the truth, leaving Ravi furious.
It was then that the police returned, and Ravi handed Denzel over to them.
Is Denzel set to face a long prison sentence?
