EastEnders star quits after months and exits in traumatic storyline
Jade waved Walford goodbye
This article contains spoilers for Thursday’s (April 25) EastEnders, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
Jade Masood (Elizabeth Green) said a final farewell to Walford in recent EastEnders scenes, following a dramatic showdown with dad Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo).
Several weeks ago, Jade announced that mum Shabnam was moving to Pakistan, and that she wanted Jade to move with her.
While Jade was keen to make the move, Dean was horrified, knowing that without Jade around, he’d have no one.
Jade waved Walford goodbye
In a bid to keep her by his side, he began tampering with her antibiotics to ensure that she wasn’t well enough to travel.
However, when Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) worked out what he was doing, he placed the blame on her, before forcing her out of Walford.
Since then, he has been charged with the murder of Keanu Taylor, after being framed by The Six, and Jean has returned to take care of Jade.
In recent scenes, Jade announced that her visa had come through and she was due to fly to Pakistan the next day, though she was left conflicted over what to do when a letter from the prison arrived.
After much deliberation, Jade and Jean paid Dean a visit, where Jade tricked him into finally admitting that he was responsible for tampering with her medication.
He was left horrified when he realised how angry and upset she was, and that this had only pushed her further away from his control.
When he begged her not to leave him on his own, she told him to ‘rot in hell’, before storming out.
Later, the Slaters all gathered to wave Jade off, and were shocked to see Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) arriving home at the same time.
Luckily, there was no bad blood between Bernie and Jade, despite what her dad was believed to have done, and Bernie wished her well.
With Jade leaving for her new life in Pakistan, is this the last we’ve seen of her?
