EastEnders spoilers: Whitney 𝕒ttacks Bianca for not saving her from child r𝕒pist

Emotions were running very high in Wednesday’s (May 22) EastEnders after Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) discovered partner Zack Hudson (James Farrar) had slept with Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa).

On the day of Whitney and Zack’s sten do, Bianca (Patsy Palmer) pressured Lauren into revealing the betrayal.

Lauren tried her best but couldn’t find the courage to reveal her secret. Instead, she told Whitney that she deserved someone better than Zack, because he’s a liar.

Any hopes of Lauren confessing were eventually destroyed due to Whitney going into labour. She then gave birth to a little girl called Dolly and returned from the hospital on cloud nine.

Given this is Whitney’s final storyline for the BBC One soap, it was only a matter of time until she found out what happened between Zack and Lauren but talk about terrible timing – the betrayal was exposed on her wedding day!

Post-wedding, things were not looking good. Zack woke up on Sharon’s (Letitia Dean) sofa, and Whitney was trying to work out what to do next.

Whitney then told Zack they needed to go and register Dolly’s birth. She really didn’t want to spend time with him but knew she didn’t have any choice.

Upon their return, Bianca spotted Whitney and Callum (Tony Clay) talking.

When she learnt that little Dolly was with Zack, Bianca took this as a sign Whit was already starting to forgive him.

Bianca then asked Whitney why she’s such a ‘pushover’. Full of emotion and baby hormones, Whitney responded and said it might have something to do with the fact she was abused by her stepdad when she was 12, and Bianca ‘did nothing to stop it’.

Tony King initially appeared in Albert Square in September 2008 as the boyfriend of Bianca, when she was pregnant with son Morgan.

On the surface he appeared to be the perfect boyfriend – kind, caring, and a good stepdad to her children. However the character was swiftly revealed to be a paedophile who had been grooming Whitney since she was 12.

After spending time in prison for assaulting a teenage boy who had propositioned Whitney, Tony returned to Walford and resumed his sexual relationship with her, with Whitney even going so far as to book flights for them to run away together when she turned 16.

His vile behaviour came to light after Whitney told Bianca that she and Tony were going to run away and start a new life together, genuinely believing it would happen.

Bianca, who was horrified at the news, called the police and Tony was arrested.

Back in the present day, after ending her friendship with Lauren for good, Whitney had a conversation with Callum about her relationship with Zack.

The emotional chat and kind words from Callum made Whitney realise that she is capable of being a single mother to Dolly and Britney (Lola Campbell).

Returning to the flat, Whitney’s departure was confirmed when she announced her plans to leave Walford forever.
