EastEnders spoilers: Terrified Alfie opens up to his beloved friends over his cancer and gets heartwarming reaction
Alfie speaks to his friends at last
Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) has an honest and open conversation with his mates in EastEnders next week and reveals that he has cancer.
The beloved character was diagnosed back in the summer, after taking a punch in the stomach from off-the-rails son Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall).
Afterwards, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) insisted Alfie go to A&E to get himself checked out, and doctors revealed worrying news.
Alfie’s prostate was enlarged, and further tests revealed it was cancerous.
Alfie speaks to his friends at last
While Alfie has been receiving support from the likes of Kat (Jessie Wallace), Linda and Phil, he hasn’t told his other friends yet.
Next week, Alfie meets a nervous patient called Shahir during one of his last radiotherapy sessions. They get chatting, but Alfie feels lonely when Shahir’s loved ones show up while he’s all alone.
In the pub, Linda invites Alfie for a drink and invites Ian (Adam Woodyatt) and Billy (Perry Fenwick) along too. The chat with his pals goes well, but suddenly Alfie is unable to get to the toilet in time, causing an accident.
The next day, Alfie is mortified about wetting himself in the pub, and Linda begs him to open up to Ian and Billy about his cancer.
She reasons that Alfie must let the people who love him support him and eventually, he tells his shocked friends everything.
While Ian and Billy are stunned, they leave Alfie feeling grateful as they vow to be there for him – whatever comes next.
