EastEnders spoilers: Stunned Whitney Dean discovers she’s pregnant

During Monday’s (January 1) episode of EastEnders, Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) revealed that she is pregnant.

Following the death of their daughter Peach, who had Edwards syndrome, Whitney and her partner Zack (James Farrar) made the decision to become foster parents earlier this year.

Zack and Whitney were accepted as foster parents after several meetings with social services, and they just welcomed a small boy named Ashton into their apartment.

They quickly discovered that foster care wouldn’t be simple, particularly after Ashton became scared and uneasy on Christmas Eve.

After constructing a den for Ashton the next day, it appeared like Zack had made progress, and soon the two were painting as Whitney prepared cookies.

Whitney was upset to hear that Ashton was being taken out of their custody in a recent scenario.

They would have to get accustomed to having kids walk through their doors, Zack quickly pointed out, but it was a good thing that social services had given him a permanent home.

In tonight’s episode, Zack made the decision to get wasted at Peggy’s with Martin (James Bye), while Whitney sought solace from Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) after Ashton’s departure.

Zack was starting to feel too much pressure because he was wondering what it would be like to say goodbye to a foster child who had been in his care longer than tiny Ashton.

Whitney, who is at least four weeks pregnant, was at home looking at a pregnancy test when the people of Walford counted down to midnight and the start of 2024.

But for Whitney and Zack, who have only recently begun their foster care adventure, what does it mean?

Remember that Shona McGarty will soon be leaving her position as Whitney Dean. How will this turn of events affect her impending departure?
