EastEnders spoilers: New Year disaster revealed for Elaine Peacock amid George Knight cheating fear
George Knight (Colin Salmon) is in for a shock when 2024 begins in EastEnders as his parents Gloria and Eddie arrive in Walford.
Prior to that, George will have his feelings for Cindy (Michelle Collins) challenged once more over the festive period.
On Christmas Day, Anna (Molly Rainford) and Gina (Francesca Henry) make their way over to the Beales for lunch.
After learning that George is on his own in the pub, Cindy secretly heads over there to invite him for a drink.
It’s set to be a challenging few weeks
Back the Beales, Ian (Adam Woodyatt) and Elaine (Harriet Thorpe) start to become jealous as Cindy and George take a trip down memory lane and chat about their life together.
Noticing that Elaine is upset, George decides to think on his feet and lies that he’s booked her a trip away in a hotel.
Just as Elaine heads back to the pub to collect some overnight belongings, George convinces otherwise, unknowingly avoiding the chaos that is unfolding in their beloved boozer.
On New Year’s Day, Elaine continues to struggle as Cindy tries to become more involved in George’s life.
She then spots Cindy asking George if he’s happy with his life choices, but just as George tries to explain himself, he receives two unexpected visitors – his parents.
In the aftermath, Elaine is concerned by George’s reaction to his mum and dad’s arrival, but he refuses to open up to her.
As Gloria and Eddie get settled in, Gloria is thrilled to see Gina and Anna again, but things appear to be tense between Eddie and his eldest granddaughter.
Later on, during a chat with George, Gloria ends up revealing a shocking truth to him – but how will he react?
And how will it impact his relationship with Elaine?
Christopher Fairbank and Elizabeth Counsell have been cast as Gloria and Eddie. Speaking on the new additions, show boss Chris Clenshaw said: ‘We’re absolutely delighted to welcome the legendary and immensely talented actors, Christopher and Elizabeth, to the EastEnders family as they bring to life the characters of Gloria and Eddie.
‘Although currently set to join for a short stint, Gloria and Eddie are thrust into the heart of the drama as they try to reconnect with their son but it soon becomes apparent why George has kept his distance.’
