EastEnders spoilers: Karen Taylor towers over 𝕕ead son Keanu’s body in unnerving scenes

Karen didn’t realise how close she was to Keanu

Karen Taylor returned to EastEnders with a bang in recent scenes, searching for missing son Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) – but little did she know she was closer to him than she realised.

Suspicious Karen couldn’t shake the feeling that the true events of Christmas Day were being kept from her, and even after Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) had taken her through The Six’s version of events, she still couldn’t accept it as the truth.

Viewers will know that Karen is right to worry, as Keanu is actually dead and buried beneath the café, having been stabbed by Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) during a violent confrontation.

Unsatisfied with Stacey’s explanation, Karen headed back to the café and refused to move until someone told her exactly where her son was.

Little did she know, he was directly below her feet.

As Karen demanded answers, she turned to Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry), who very nearly threw The Six under the bus by revealing that he couldn’t remember Keanu being there, let alone being the one to attack him.

Luckily, Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) was there to turn the dialogue around, as she explained how Keanu had been violent and aggressive, all while eyeing up his burial site.

Nish went on to demand that Karen leave, calling Keanu scum and telling her that he deserved to be wherever he was, causing Kathy to grimace.

With Karen still determined to get to the bottom of her son’s whereabouts, Kathy met with Stacey and Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) to come up with a plan to get rid of her.

Kathy decided that their best option was to report her to the police for Albie’s kidnap, though this backfired when Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) overheard Kathy’s phone conversation and begged her not to send her mum to prison.

After helping Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) take over the Arches as a means of repaying his missing ÂŁ50,000, Kathy instructed Karen to leave for good while she still could, or risk facing prison, or worse, the wrath of Phil.

Confident that Karen was out of sight and out of mind, Kathy relayed all of the details to Stacey, totally unaware that Karen was actually listening in…

Will she realise just how close she came to her son?
