EastEnders spoilers: Heartbreaking scenes as paralytic Linda publicly humiliates herself

Linda’s paranoia is worsening

Linda Carter’s (Kellie Bright) alcoholism is to take a turn for the worse in next week’s EastEnders when she makes a huge mistake in the Queen Vic for all to see.

Viewers have seen Linda take a worrying downfall in recent months following the return of her rapist Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) and her murder of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) on Christmas Day.

Since then she has struggled with the pressure of keeping Keanu’s death a secret, crumbling with the knowledge that he is buried just metres away from her home under the floor of the café.

With son Johnny’s (Charlie Suff) return from Manchester next week, it’s hoped that Linda can get back on the straight and narrow, especially when he devises a plot with Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) to rid Dean from the square forever.

Keeping his mum under his watchful eye, Linda takes to secretly drinking and makes a very public spectacle in front of the whole pub during Gina Knight’s (Francesca Henry) birthday party.

Carrying her cake out into the bar, drunken Linda accidentally drops the cake, much to Gina’s enjoyment as she witnesses Linda’s downfall. Johnny scorns her for laughing at his mum, having discovered she was also secretly dating Dean.

Sitting down with Ben and Callum (Tony Clay) over a drink, Johnny begins to plot his revenge on Dean, promising Callum that it will be legal and above board.

Revisiting a story from November last year, Gina will be convinced to help Johnny get his hands on the recording of the false confession that Dean blackmailed Linda to make.

We’ve already seen Linda crack in front of Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), but will she finally admit all to her son? Will his plan to take down Dean take a nasty turn?
