EastEnders spoilers: Frantic search as George goes missing after murđť••er trial twist
George is conflicted as the trial date gets closer
Further turmoil is to hit EastEnders next week as the events of Eddie Knight’s (Christopher Fairbank) trial play out with devastating consequences for his son George (Colin Salmon).
George and estranged adoptive father Eddie’s relationship has become more fractured after learning that he was adopted from West Africa as part of a baby farming agreement in the late 1960s.
Before this, he always assumed he was of Jamaican heritage.
Eddie arrived in Albert Square alongside wife Gloria (Elizabeth Counsell), asking for a character reference after he was charged with a racially motivated murder that took place forty years ago on a man named Henry Asare, who was George’s birth father.
George is conflicted as the trial date gets closer
Struggling to deal with the findings, George’s daughter Gina (Francesca Henry) spent 5k on flights to Jamaica, believing it to be his home nation, in a bid to cheer him up and learn more about his culture.
In upcoming scenes, fiancée Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) and ex-wife Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) urge him to come clean to his daughters about his findings, which horrifies the girls.
As the trial date rolls around, he’s put out to learn that his DNA search to find his birth mother hasn’t proved fruitful but when Eddie tells him he’ll give him the information he craves if he cooperates with the statement in court, he’s left conflicted.
After speaking with Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) about the legal implications involved in making a false statement, he bravely heads to the courtroom but is intrigued by the presence of a mystery woman.
Following the trial, Elaine and Cindy join forces to hunt down an emotionally charged George to tell him that he has a visitor at The Vic that threatens to change his life forever.
Is the mystery visitor his mother, and who was the woman in the courtroom?
