Sharon and Keanu’s wedding day
They’ve been off and on and off again over the past year, but now Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) and Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) are well and truly back on, but will their wedding day go to plan?
As the pair get ready at No.43 with Martin Fowler (James Bye) and Zack Hudson (James Farrar), Sharon tries to mask her guilt, having been hiding the fact that Albie’s real biological father is actually Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).
At the venue, Sharon is a vision in white as she walks down the aisle hand in hand with Albie, but before she and Keanu can say ‘I do’, Phil storms in, having received a surprise visitor…
Bernie’s brave move
Christmas day is looking bleak for Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris), who wakes up alone in the flat with no electricity or heating, following the rest of her family’s sudden departure from Albert Square.
After an emotional phone call with Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley), Bernie turns to brother Keanu, begging him to speak to Sharon so that Karen can come home.
However, Keanu reacts badly to her request, uninviting her from the wedding in fear of her exposing the truth about Albie’s kidnapping.
Plucking up the courage, Bernie makes a huge decision, as she heads over to No.55 to interrupt the Mitchell Christmas dinner, demanding an audience with Phil…
Lola’s Christmas surprise
Bernie’s visit isn’t the only surprise in store for the Mitchells this Christmas, as soon another video message from Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) is revealed to the family.
In the message, Lola announces that Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) and Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) are both set to run the London Marathon in 2024.
As Lola speaks about the importance of family, Phil is left with a lot to think about, and soon heads over to the Queen Vic…
Suki’s escape attempt is thwarted
Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) is desperate to escape abusive husband NishPanesar (Navin Chowdhry), but as she prepares to leave, she is met with a surprise visitor who stops her in her tracks.
Later, when she prepares to set off for from Walford for good, she receives a panicked phone call from Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota), leaving her with no choice but to head back to No.41…
After a tense interaction with Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) while handing over Charli, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) heads to No.41 under false pretences, with the intention of checking in on Suki.
However, he is the last person Suki wants to see, and she immediately dismisses his attempts to help.
Tensions grow between the Beales and the Knights
Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) and Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) prepare to spend their first Christmas in nine years with mum Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), and head round to No.45 for Christmas lunch with the Beales.
When Cindy learns that George Knight (Colin Salmon) is on his own in the Vic making preparations for Sharon and Keanu’s wedding reception, she sneaks over to invite him round for a drink.
Later, Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) and Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) grow jealous as their respective partners take a trip down memory lane.
With Elaine being less than subtle, George soon notices her irritation and acts swiftly, lying that he has booked her a romantic weekend away.
In a flash, everything changes…
In the Vic, Sharon, Suki, Stacey, Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) seek solace as they try to process the events of the day.
But what none of them predict is the events that are set to follow, as one Walford man loses his life in dramatic circumstances that will change the lives of The Six indefinitely…
