EastEnders spoilers: Anxious Lily Slater and Ricky Mitchell discover their future at baby Charli’s hearing
Both Lily and Ricky are anxious ahead of their guardianship hearing
Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) and Ricky Mitchell (Frankie Day) are Albert Square’s youngest parents at just 13-years-old, after giving birth to baby Charli Slater-Branning in EastEnders last year.
Lily was shocked to learn that she was pregnant in January 2023, and refused to disclose the identity of the baby’s father for quite some time.
However, once it was established that Ricky was the dad, the Slaters and Brannings agreed to attend meetings with social services to discuss how they were going to work together to bring up the baby.
Baby Charli made a dramatic arrival in September 2023, when Lily gave birth at home amid a terrifying hostage ordeal for mum Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner).
Both Lily and Ricky are anxious ahead of their guardianship hearing
Since then, Lily and Ricky have been sharing custody of their daughter, with the help of their families.
In upcoming scenes, they will finally find out what the future holds for them as they attend their guardianship hearing, though the anxious teens aren’t the only ones concerned.
Ricky’s step-mum Denise Fox (Diane Parish) can barely think about the hearing, as her mind is so preoccupied with the events of Christmas Day, and her involvement in the subsequent coverup of Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) murder.
Ahead of the hearing, Denise learns that suspicious Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) has had an altercation with Stacey and Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), and paranoid Denise corners Stacey in a bid to find out exactly what was said.
Stacey attempts to convince Denise that the conversation was about Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) and nothing more, but Denise is so rattled that she rushes away from the courtroom, just as the family are expected to go into the hearing.
Following the hearing, Stacey throws a party at the Slater house, and Jack soon tags along. Concerned that Denise will crack and blow their cover, Stacey pulls Jack aside to ask how she is.
Back at home, Denise is comforted by Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) as she cries out in her sleep, because Jack is nowhere to be found…
