EastEnders immediately reveals two big secrets about George Knight’s son Junior
Junior is hiding some big secrets
This article contains spoilers from Tuesday’s (May 14) EastEnders, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
George Knight (Colin Salmon) was left shocked when he came face to face with son Junior (Micah Balfour) in recent EastEnders scenes for the first time in seven years.
After stepping into the underground boxing ring, George was shocked to find that his opponent was his estranged son, but it was soon revealed that his appearance was no accident.
When George refused to fight him, Junior admitted that his sisters, Anna (Molly Rainford) and Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) had warned him of George’s plan to get back in the ring, despite doctor’s warnings that it could kill him.
Junior is hiding some big secrets
After almost collapsing at Gloria Knight’s memorial following a fight in previous scenes, George was rushed to hospital, where doctors confirmed that he had a brain condition called Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), as a result of his years of boxing, and that one bad knock to the head could be enough to kill him.
Terrified after discovering George’s plans to fight again and feeling powerless to stop him, his daughters contacted Junior, who revealed how easy it was to find out where George was fighting.
When George asked if Junior had got his message about Gloria’s memorial, Junior revealed that he had actually attended her funeral, as she had never missed any of his birthdays or Christmases.
Viewers will remember that Gloria tragically died in George’s arms after a fatal heart attack, while listening to a lullaby from George’s biological mother.
In her final moments, she asked George to ensure that she was cremated, and not buried in the shared plot that Eddie had bought. Because of this, George was left completely devastated when Eddie banned him from the funeral.
When the Knights returned to the Queen Vic, Gina asked Junior to stay for a drink, but when George didn’t seem keen, Junior made excuses to leave.
Anna begged her brother to stay, revealing that George had had a really difficult few months and could do with the support from his son.
Since the beginning of the year, George has discovered that he was adopted after a process called farming, and his adopted parents had lied to him about his heritage.
It then transpired that they had only told him the truth because adopted dad Eddie Knight was set to face trial for a racially motivated murder, and they needed George to be his character witness.
However, when George discovered that the man Eddie had murdered had been his biological father, he was totally destroyed, and things got worse when he discovered that his biological mother had only recently died.
In court, George refused to defend Eddie, and he ended up being found guilty and sent to prison.
Junior has yet to discover exactly what Eddie did, despite having seen him in handcuffs at the funeral, though he insisted to Anna that it was none of his business.
Though Anna was adamant that this was George and Junior’s opportunity to put the past behind them and start fresh, Junior refused and headed to Peggy’s instead – where he soon met Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) and things got passionate.
Unfortunately, Junior wasn’t exactly telling the truth when he told her that he was single, as viewers were soon let in on two huge secrets: He was married and had a child!
Will his wife ever find out about his betrayal – and will Junior ever repair his relationship with his dad?
