Nadine Keller (Jazzy Phoenix) recently returned to our screens to drop a huge bombshell on Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) in EastEnders.
Jay was left completely stunned when she revealed that she was pregnant, and the baby was his, but in upcoming scenes he begins to have his doubts…
When Jay is given food for thought, he invites Nadine to 29B, and it doesn’t take long for them to start rowing.
When Jay questions the baby’s paternity, Nadine remains insistent that it is his, and soon breaks the news that they are having a baby girl.
Nadine has dropped a huge bombshell on Jay
Despite his initial doubts, Jay promises to be there for her and the baby, and hands her some money.
‘I think he steps up to the responsibility that he doesn’t want,’ actor Jamie Borthwick explained.
‘We all know Jay – he’s a good man, as Perry Fenwick calls him. So, he does certainly live up to responsibility.
‘I think he’s sucked into this. He buys into this. He has absolutely no reason to not believe, so he’s all for it, and he steps up when called upon because he is a good man.’
The next day, Nadine pays the family a visit to apologise for causing upset with Lexi Pearce (Isabella Brown) about the pregnancy, but when she realises just how important this baby is to Jay, she is overcome with guilt…
In a bid to improve relations between Lexi and Nadine, Jay takes them out for lunch at the Queen Vic.
However, things take a turn when Lexi refuses to hold her tongue, and it is clear a rift is beginning to form…
Is Nadine up to something, and could Lexi be set to expose her?
